DIY Reversible Star Wars Comforter

 DIY Reversible Star Wars Comforter

My son recently decided that he wanted to have a Star Wars bed. When looking for bedding I found that any really cool Star Wars bedding was only available in Twin. I decided to look at our local craft store and found this amazingly soft fleece fabric featuring retro Star Wars characters. I fell in love with it. I goggled the size of a Full Size bed (54"X75") and got enough fabric to have a little bit extra to deal with any uneven edges. On another trip I ended up finding another really neat piece of Star Wars fleece with all the ships and got the same amount. I sewed the two pieces wrong sizes together and then used Satin Blanket Binding to sew around all four edges. Since I used several coupons to buy the fabric it ended up only costing me about $30, a lot less then store bought ones that are not anywhere as cool!

Octoanuts Birthday Party

For my son's 4th Birthday he decided he wanted an Octonaut birthday party.  We had so much fun making all the decorations for this party.  Most of the ideas came from Pinterest or my husband's crazy thinking :) Pin the Eye Patch on Kwazii Homemade Octonaut Hats Applesauce Kelp Cakes My husband created wooden cutouts for photos,  we decoupaged images on we printed from the website.  Our local Gerritys grocery store made a Octopod Cupcake Cake from a design I created.  We added gummy sharks and M&Ms for more details.  My husband made a Jello Snotblob because my son is obsessed with the Christmas Octonaut episode.

Day 38 - *Princess Week * Magical Moments Inspired by Pocahontas

*Princess Week* This week we will be featuring Disney movies staring our favorite princesses.  They inspire us to find our voice, go after our dreams, and take the right path, even if it isn’t the easiest one.  Day 38 - Today's Magical Moments are inspired by the movie Pochontas. This movie is a visualy stunning historical tale showing  serious issues of  colonialism , culture and peace over war.  It captures the spirit of the woman  Pocahontas  and her people, and the spirit of the early days of Jamestown. Enjoy these activities and watch Pocahontas and its sequel on Disney Plus.  Footprint Craft https://pin.it/2xD75W6 Hummingbird Crafts https://pin.it/5HpUnly https://pin.it/5O0fN6h DIY Wind Chimes https://pin.it/61NEdpY Raccoon Art  https://pin.it/19MbOsn Tree Painting  https://pin.it/19MbOsn
