DIY Geek Valentines

I hate spending money on cards that my husband just throws away so sometimes I get creative
(with a lot of help from Pinterest  - Click Here for my Hubby Pinterest Board)

This year I made a collage of all the really geeky valentine's I could find. I then arranged them so it told a silly, geek valentine message. (My additions are in parentheses)

It reads:

Hello Sweetie,
A long time ago in a galaxy  far, far away I found the one I was looking for (or Burger King)
Every time I see you its like Love at First Sight
Your a Trooper (for putting up with me)
(And even though I complain a lot) I wouldn't change a thing about you
(and sometimes)  I only like you SITH much
Never Forget That I Love You - OODLES!
You're the OBI-WAN For Me! (and David Tennant )
Our Love Will ENDOR

Several years ago I did a very simple valentine with a cut out of the TARDIS that I just cut in half at the door and folded open so I could write a message inside.

Bleach Shirts

My son is obsessed with the show Octonauts but you can't find the anything to buy in the store because its based in  the UK. My husband got the great idea to make him a shirt using a bleach technique. He printed out the picture he wanted using freezer paper. Cut it out the image so that it was revered and the image was the only part of the shirt showing.  He then ironed it onto the shirt. Using bleach in a spray bottle he sprayed the image. Once you remove the freezer paper, you can see that the areas you bleached are a different color then the rest of the shirt. Step 1: Print our image you want Step 2: Cut out the image, leaving the outline Step 3: Iron on to shirt Step 4: Using bleach in a spray bottle, spray the area of the shirt showing, inside the outline Step 5: Peel of freezer paper Step 6: Rinse and let dry  It came out great!   Close up of the image

Day 38 - *Princess Week * Magical Moments Inspired by Pocahontas

*Princess Week* This week we will be featuring Disney movies staring our favorite princesses.  They inspire us to find our voice, go after our dreams, and take the right path, even if it isn’t the easiest one.  Day 38 - Today's Magical Moments are inspired by the movie Pochontas. This movie is a visualy stunning historical tale showing  serious issues of  colonialism , culture and peace over war.  It captures the spirit of the woman  Pocahontas  and her people, and the spirit of the early days of Jamestown. Enjoy these activities and watch Pocahontas and its sequel on Disney Plus.  Footprint Craft https://pin.it/2xD75W6 Hummingbird Crafts https://pin.it/5HpUnly https://pin.it/5O0fN6h DIY Wind Chimes https://pin.it/61NEdpY Raccoon Art  https://pin.it/19MbOsn Tree Painting  https://pin.it/19MbOsn
